ABOUT JEN LAI

Hello! I'm Jen and I'm really glad that you came across my website. 

I'm born and raised in Ipoh, Malaysia and I graduated from the University of Melbourne with a bachelor's degree in Media & Communications, I've decided to pursue my passion for films by starting my filmmaking career at Luminous Ink, a TV commercial production house as a Production Assistant. This has allowed me to gain invaluable experience and knowledge about producing, writing, directing and cinematography.

Currently, I'm also a freelance film director, photographer and content creator based in Kuala Lumpur.

My favourite film is The Lord of The Rings trilogy. It translates into my deep passion for films. I believe in making films that allow the audience to think, relate and escape. I'm inspired to tell compelling stories by exploring different themes and complex characters.

I'm grateful to have travelled to several countries and explore different cultures and traditions as well as capturing precious moments along the way. I wish to follow my father's footsteps in building a library of photo albums.
